A few things occupying the brain, hands, and household lately:

  • Reading “Strange Houses” nightly with my son. Such an inventive way to tell a creepy story, and that's all I'll say because it's unusually easy to spoil. Its author, “Uketsu”, is a masked Japanese YouTuber who originally told the story as a 21‑minute mystery built around floor plans before it became a novel. A book with some evidence‑folder DNA.
  • Looking for my next job, using an AI workflow I've been developing to help with the search. It's become an interesting project in its own right. I'll write up the process once I've been through enough of it to know what actually works.
  • Enjoying summer with the kids. Lots of hiking, biking, getting sweaty, getting lost, getting unlost, and generally remembering that going outside remains pretty competitive technology.
  • Building a catio behind the house. A “catio” is basically a screened outdoor room for indoor cats, a little loophole where they can smell the grass, lie in the sun, and contemplate birds without terrorizing the local ecosystem.
